Josh and I crossed the border to do some light shopping at the Great Lakes Crossings in Detroit. The trip to the U.S. was smooth and easy which I was anticipating the opposite. I was able to buy a cute pair of earrings, two hands soaps and two lip glosses from Bath and Body Works, and a cute grey sweater for Josh. On the way back to the Canadian border is where I did not anticipate the stress. Firstly, we missed our exit to get to the border, so we made several detours. Eventually we were able to get back on track. While we were waiting in line for the border ramp, the truck in front of us just started to back up towards us. I was only a few feet away from the truck and had no space to back up in order to get out of his way. I panicked and just honked until the truck moved forward again. Thankfully the truck just bumped onto my bumper. But I got scared of the thought of getting sandwiched by two trucks (another truck was behind us). I got Josh to yell at the truck driver and make him aware that he backed into my car! I'm still mildly shaken from the experience and relieved to be back in Canada again. It just seems that whenever I cross the Michigan state, there's always SOMETHING that has to go wrong.
I'm going drinking with some friends which I look forward to. It will be a nice stress reliever for everyone. :D
It's been a crazy week since I got back in Windsor with Josh. I have started my first week of teaching for my second placement and so far it's been stressful. I feel like I am always catching up with so much information because Geography is my second teachable. But thankfully my associate teachers are very helpful and understanding. I just have to make sure I am on top of things even if I only one step ahead of the students.
